Surplus, shortages and obsolescence of inventory/spare parts have always been the main concern for inventory managers, especially in the defense industry where expensive spare parts are involved. Inefficient inventory management leads to unnecessary higher inventory cost and affects operational readiness. In view of these challenges, military organisations have been gearing up in benchmarking their performance against industry best practices in recent years. However, it is an ongoing quest for militaries to seek continuous improvements by upgrading themselves with the best inventory optimisation skills in pursuit of cost efficiency and supply readiness.
The 3-day advance inventory optimisation course is designed to equip military inventory personnel with the latest and best planning methodologies in order to improve inventory performance at reduced cost. The course will present a comprehensive discussion of latest advances in inventory planning and key principles to optimal inventory management. Participants can look forward to gaining new insights with personal experience sharing from UK MoD Inventory advisor, Shane Targett who has successfully pioneered and implemented an inventory improvement program in UK MoD.
